"I can only say the best way to survive the hot and humid summertime in Japan is at the beach.
During my time in Tokyo I have spent many weekends in the nearby Kamakura and enjoyed the beach life there. If you are looking for the best swimming and snorkeling places in Japan, then you have to go to the Okinawa Prefecture. The prefecture is famous for the finest beaches. Try out Maezato and Fusaki at Ishigaki Island. Another highlight for me was the visit of the Nakatajima Dunes in Hamamatsu. They belong to one of the three largest sand dune areas in Japan."
