Jodogahama Beach means "Pure Land Beach" is one of the most scenic places along Rikuchu Coast line. It is ranked as one of the 100 best beaches in Japan. The Buddhist monk Reikyo gave this beautiful place its name.

History
In March 2011 a huge earthquake and the following tsunami caused tremendous damage along the east coast of Japan.

Jodogahama Beach is located near Miyako City in the Iwate Prefecture.
How to get to Jodogahama Beach?
- 150min from Tokyo to Morioka by JR Tohoku Shinkansen
- 2-2,5hrs from Morioka to Miyako by JR Yamada Line
- 15min from Miyako Station to Jodogashima bus stop by Iwate Kenpoku Bus
