Jodogahama Beach means "Pure Land Beach" is one of the most scenic places along Rikuchu Coast line. It is ranked as one of the 100 best beaches in Japan. The Buddhist monk Reikyo gave this beautiful place its name.

History
In March 2011 a huge earthquake and the following tsunami caused tremendous damage along the east coast of Japan.
