History

The Kyoto Kacho University evolved from the Kacho Junior College, which dates back to 1953. In 2011 during the commemoration of the 800th anniversary of the death of well-known Buddhist monk Honen Shonin (1133 - 1212), the founder of the Jodo-shu (Pure Land) school of Buddhism in Japan, the Kyoto Kacho University was created. At the same time, the Department of Modern Home Economics was established.
