Arashiyama in Kyoto
My 100 Best Moments in Japan - 49/100when the time stood still
"I crossed the Togetsukyo Bridge (Moon Crossing Bridge) in the Arashiyama district in Kyoto and saw this scenery. Later I just sat at the shoreline of the river for a while and took it all in. Great efforts are taken to preserve the look and feel of the old times. I think what makes a visit to Kyoto so appealing is the chance to get an impression of how people lived in this area hundreds of years ago."
