Kyoto Nanenzin Temple
My 100 Best Moments in Japan - 84/100craftsmanship
"The Nanzen-ji Temple in Kyoto was an all-in-one wonder for me. From the huge famous entrance gate to the little details of its wooden carvings the displayed craftsmanship was just stunning. The Zen Buddhist temple complex covers a large area with 12 subtemples and the beautiful Hojo gardens. The most amazing feature I discovered was an aqueduct from the 19th century. This visit was one of my highlights in Kyoto."
