best place in town for a stroll

"I took my time to stroll along the Kamogawa River in downtown Kyoto and absorbed the unique atmosphere. The old machiya houses, ryokans, and restaurants at the river banks together with groups of people celebrating the cherry blossom seasons were just wonderful to watch. I came back to this place at night to see the illumination of the old houses and cherry trees. Later, after a delicious meal, I went back to Osaka with a big smile on my face."
