Kurashiki
My 100 Best Moments in Japan - 37/100edo times
"I have a big fascination for edo-style architecture, which was established from 1603 to 1867. The old preserved Bikan quarter in Kurashiki was for that reason one of my sightseeing highlights in the Okayama prefecture. When you walk along the famous canal with beautiful stone bridges crossing the water it brings you back to the old days. At the end of my tour, I walked up a little hill and this amazing view over the roofs of the old quarter was the reward."
